Information we collect

When you contact us by email or through the Eat Better UK website, we may need to collect personal information about you so that the appropriate service can be provided. The information we require from you may include personal information, such as:

We collect data through various sources such as:

• IP Address (if using our website) Contact form on Get in Touch page on the website

• When you subscribe to my e-newsletter

What do we use it for?

I use your personal data within the rules set out in the Data Protection Act 1998. We process this data for the following reasons: 

• where you have consented to the processing

• to ensure I meet our legal requirements

• to allow me to communicate and provide services appropriate to your needs

• to process financial transactions 

• to conduct research or statistical analysis that allows us to target and plan the  provision of services

• to identify users for the purpose of notifying them of new Eat Better UK products with promotional loyalty discounts.

If I am required to, I will only share your information, only where it is necessary:

• where permitted under the Data Protection Act 1998 

• where the disclosure is necessary for the purposes of the prevention and/or detection   of crime

I will strive to ensure that any personal data in my care will be kept safe and that where your information is disclosed to a third party, we will seek to ensure that the third party has sufficient systems and procedures in place to prevent the loss or damage of personal data.

I will not use your personal data for third party marketing purposes without your prior express consent.

   

How long will I keep your information?

I will keep your information on our records as long you remain a customer and will retain the information unless you unsubscribe or request me to delete your data.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

   

Website and Online forms 

When someone visits Eat Better UK website, I use third-party services to collect standard internet usage log information. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. I collect information volunteered by members of the public via the online forms hosted by Eat Better UK.

Information Security

I keep information about you confidential. This means I store it securely on our server and control who has access to it. We will not store any information where I am not legally required to do so.

How I Store Your Data

When you contact us through the contact form on Eat Better UK’s website, the information is stored on our website database and an email is sent through 123 Reg which then gets forwarded onto my Eat Better UK’s internal mailboxes.

I use 123 Reg as a platform to store any contacts who have subscribed to the website and Mailchimp for you to receive my e-newsletter.

Your Rights

Eat Better UK tries to be as open as it can be in terms of giving people access to their personal information. Individuals can find out if we hold any personal information by making a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act 1998.
